ABOUT THE CHEF
Born and raised here in the Dallas area and coming from a family of artists, he gained a passion for culinary arts at a very young age. He began his career working under legendary chef, Darren McGrady. Known for being the personal chef to British royalty and many US Presidents, McGrady inspired Lunt to pursue his career in high-end professional catering.
His love of all cultures led him to travel, he has cooked in places from ski resorts in Oregon to trains in Alaska. He also has worked with international students in perfecting their specific recipes from their countries and regions. Being exposed to so many cultures, he has learned Spanish, French, and German; currently he is learning Farsi and Russian, as well as, learning to cook Persian and Mediterranean cuisines.
In the DFW area, Lunt has worked under local catering companies like G-Tex for Gilley’s and he has opened multiple, successful food concepts. He directed food service operations for both the Dallas Cattle Baron’s Ball and the Sky Ball providing high end, scratch-made plated and station service for events up to 10,000 guests.
Coming to Fresh Thyme Catering, located inside corporate event venue, Frisco Hall, he is bringing thirty years of culinary and food service experience with him. His appreciation of diverse cultures & cuisines is perfectly reflected in our new executive catering menus.
